The goal of Friends of the Palo Alto Parks is to work with the city of Palo Alto, with private groups, with other nonprofits, and with citizen organizations to have the best possible parks and open spaces in our city.  To achieve this goal, the organization has three main objectives:

•Provide funding to enrich, enhance, and beautify Palo Alto’s parks and open space preserves
•Foster greater public awareness, appreciation, and ownership of these treasured assets
•Raise funds to assist in purchasing additional parkland and open space

Palo Alto has over 32 parks and open spaces totaling more than 4,200 acres. For a complete list of the parks, their history and amenities, and a locator map, see the booklet Parks of Palo Alto, a joint publishing effort between Friends of the Palo Alto Parks and the Palo Alto Historical Association. The booklet can be purchased from the Palo Alto Historical Association, P.O. Box 193, Palo Alto, CA 94302.  Or you can visit the City's web site (www.cityofpaloalto.org).

Please join us in support of our local parklands.  We are a nonprofit public benefit corporation, organized in December 2003. To contact us, write or call:
